Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, MannyDojo (formerly known as DJ Manny) is a multifaceted artist, DJ, and educator who has been a cornerstone of Austin's music scene for over a decade. He first gained prominence with his Tuesday night residency, Twait Up Tuesdays, at Red Fez, a gathering that became a staple for local music lovers.
As the founder of DJ Dojo, a record store and DJ school, MannyDojo nurtured the next generation of DJs and music enthusiasts, creating a space where music education and community thrived. His passion for music and culture also led him to co-create Los Bandidos Cósmicos, a musical project blending Latin dancehall, dub, and world rhythms, which gained recognition for its innovative sound. schedule.sxsw.com
Currently, MannyDojo is a core member of Peligrosa, a renowned DJ collective known for its eclectic mix of Latinx sounds, including cumbia, reggaeton, and salsa. Through Peligrosa, he continues to push musical boundaries and celebrate cultural diversity.
